I would like to see the prospect draft moved to right after the NFL draft.
My reasoning is that it would not change much regarding the college players, who are the majority of the draft, but that it would give us more concrete information on which players have real shots at earning roster spots. And shouldn't we all want to have better information? I do not like buying a pig in a poke.

Disagree, it’s a college draft not a rookie draft.

1/4 of the players drafted are no longer college players because they declare for the draft

I agree to have our so called prospect draft go after the NFL draft.
But I would go one step further and only be able to draft players that are considered eligible to be drafted in the upcoming NFL draft. Right now most of best players who are eligible to be drafted in the NFL next year are already taken. It forces managers to guess on the best players 2 years away from being drafted. This also amounts to our FA draft being diluted.
I would rather have a NFL rookie draft of college players. The NFL doesn't draft college kids still in the middle of their college careers. Why should we ?
I think our league which is so heavily weighted on our college draft will not create parity...because of the high probability of luck and possible mistakes of our valuable draft picks.

This is a contract with a developmental league and as such, I believe our focus should remain on developmental (college) players to supplement our rosters. The NFL draft has very little bearing on which players we are going to consider, as most of those are already owned. The only real difference will be with defensive players, mostly LB's and CB's, as for the most part they go untouched during our college draft.
Something else to consider is: will this change make our league better? It may change draft perspective for some owners, but I don't believe it strengthens our league (it doesn't weaken it either). Changes should be made for the betterment, not for the sake of change.
I like our current draft location.

I agree with BSB but I know we're in the minority. I think the draft is a very divisive topic for all in this league and I would like to see it voted on as I am curious to see the leagues thoughts on the set-up

Guru..The problem is that now most of the best players in the upcoming NFL draft are already owned which is very significant. And so managers have to decide on the best players that may be drafted 2 or 3 years from now which creates a lot of uncertainty. Any bad luck from this draft uncertainty can not be recovered by our weak FA draft.
My comments for change was not for the sake of change as I am the last one to want change but I see a growing situation that will lead to unbalanced created by our current draft situation.
I guess I am in a minority and will have to decide if this league is right for me.

BSB, all drafts, regardless of when, are basically a "crap shoot".
Statistics prove that in rookie drafts (those following the NFL Draft)i standard and dynasty leagues, only 50% of players selected in the early 1st round become elite players - 50%. The next group, picks 11 through mid 2nd round, 1 in 3 will be a success, not elite, a success - with elite tight ends being the exception. Rounds 3 to completion, 10% will establish themselves as serviceable NFL players.
Drafting college players poses the same set of circumstances. However with late round pick there are still high risk/high reward options, albeit players 3 or 4 years removed from the NFL.
When all is said and done, whether our draft is held before or after the NFL's, most owners are not going to modify their draft strategy, I won't.

We can agree to disagree. Only time will tell. But teams that are in a rebuild mode can't afford to make any mistakes in our "crap shoot" draft where it takes several years to find out results. And with very few options to rebuild in our FA draft it will take several years at best for a team to compete..

I think we be better of looking at more ways to fix the weak FA.

Also I took over a team with no good players and no draft pick in the first year. I have put in the time to re build so has other teams. If that is what it takes for other teams to re build now I have no problem with that. This is meant to be a league full of the best managers who should be willing to put in the time.
