The 2019 Free Agent Frenzy is over, and I have broken down the results and compared them with last years.
We contracted with 70 players for $648.00 in 2019 Cap. The total Cap contracted for is $1523.25, due to the 2,3,4 year deals. And we have about $300 in unspent 2019 Cap unused at this time. All of these numbers are larger than last year.
We had 1 player crack the $60 barrier, none last year, and one for 40+ compared to 2 last year.
There were 3 players in the $30s same as last year, 5 in the $20s versus 3 last year, and 15 in the $10s against just 7 last year.
Finally, there were 17 $1 players whereas we had 31 last year.
So the increase seems to have been in the mid level players costing more, and fewer players at minimum contract.
Of course, there is a different crop each year, and that changes things significantly.
