I think we need a rule or two that differentiates between the forced call up threshold, draft eligibility of players, and free agents.
My proposal:
1) Use the forced call up thresholds that the board put into place recently (16 games)
2) Draft Eligible Players: Players who are not currently on a NFL roster are Minor League Draft Eligible. This includes college players and any NFL undrafted free agents at the start of the FSC draft (if they sign a contract during the FSC draft then they are still eligible to be drafted). Freshman need to be "enrolled" (24/7 seems to be the site we all use to determine this), and not simply "signed" to a college. Players who have been drafted by an NFL team are no longer eligible for the FSC Minor League Draft.
3) Free Agents: Any player who is on an NFL roster, or is an undrafted free agent, is eligible to be nominated in FSC free agency. There is no minimum threshold for free agents to meet.
Reasoning:
1) I like the new forced callup threshold because like we have seen in recent years most wr's and te's play 6 games (or one game previously), but are not ready to contribute to a fantasy roster. This allows them to develop and not be forced to a Major League Roster.
2) In my opinion it is just common sense that a player on a NFL roster should not be eligible to be drafted in the "College Minor League Draft". I also think the the forced call up threshold and draft eligibility are two very different things.
3) I think that if a manager wants to sign a 6th round rookie Rb to his Major League Roster (for example) he should be able to make that decision. If we preach that these leagues are the best ones (I say they are the best ones that I am involved with) then we shouldn't punish a manager who does research and knows the 6th round guy is a diamond in the rough. Once he plays 16 games, everyone in the fantasy world will know about him and that manager's advantage (due to research) is eliminated.
Just my thoughts. If you agree or disagree throw it down here instead of continuing to pile up the chat (my bad)!
