I am going a different way from my usual breakdown of Free Agency this year. I have the information if anyone wants it, just message me. So, here are some things I noticed:
I looked at Yahoo's rankings, and used them to compare what we paid for players. On the batting side, Machado #45 went for $28, Trout #60 - $20.50, Justin Turner #183 - $11.50, Starling Marte #188 - $2.75, Abreu #226 - $2.50, Rizzo #242 - $4.75, Fraley #243 - Not Bid On, Rooker #249 - $7.00, McMahon #250 - $13.50, Luke Raley #255 - $7.00, Maikel Garcia #258 - $6.75, Lee #263 - $8.00, and France #271 - $2.50
Pitchers - Yamamoto #40 - $34.00, Kenley Jansen #150 - $8.00, Darvish #164 - $10.00, Imanaga #190 - $20.00, Sheehan #247 - $10.00, and Robert Suarez #267 - $4.00.
And then we also had 6 other players signed for more than $5.00. They are: Jon Gray #317 - $12.00, Kershaw #379 - $9.00, Lugo #323 - $7.00, Jeffers #374 - $6.50, Willi Castro #383 - $6.00, and Danny Jansen #333 - $5.50.
So while in general higher ranked players got higher priced contracts, which is what you would expect, there were exceptions. Starling Marte for $2.75, Kenley for $8.00, and Darvish for $10.00 may be bargains, and Ryan McMahon for $13.50, Imanaga for $20.00 or Jon Gray at $12.00 may be overpaid, but of course need is also a big factor. And Kershaw at $9.00 is simply because of his injury.
Overall 84 players were auctioned with only 7 going for more than $10.

Marte was an absolute steal at that price. Yeah, he needs to stay healthy, but at that price it doesn't even matter.
Some funky stuff this FAF.
