Lions agrees to this trade. This shores up my goaltending for the upcoming season. If I am going to make a playoff run, I need to ensure my starts. With Howard and Mrazek, I am guaranteed all of Detroit’s starts, and I have Quick to supplement as well. Baring a slew of injuries, I should be able to make starts every week. I have a lot of centers, so Koivu was expendable, McCarron is still a couple of years away from making an impact. I’m going to miss that second rounder, but we all know how much of a premium there is on goalies, so I gotta give to get. Whales to confirm.
