I know some will like it and some wont so here I go. Any interest in adding a spot or 2 more for IR. Those that say it makes you be a GM by making tough choices ...that's a crop of crap as Gretzky would say. We have cap if managed properly and we run into injuries and in order to have the league strong from start to finish I believe full rosters would allow that. Anyone in multiple sport leagues are probably noticing players are sitting due to broken finger nails which is bs and I'm guessing teams taking care of assets. Anyways look forward to hearing what others think

I am in strong agreement. Salary cap leagues are about managing a salary cap. If you can IR 85 players and actually afford to do so, I marvel at your cap management skills and say all the power to ya. Have at it. Nothing more frustrating than an injury (that has nothing to do with you, not like we can hire trainers to help strengthen our fantasy players) forcing a player to the sidelines with no way to replace him in the active lineup.

Do you have a proposed amount of ir spots?

Not sure but currently if 6 players are out you have to punt a roster spot or potentially lose a good player which doesnt seem right. It's hard enough to draft or find decent players on waivers so you should be able to protect them and still roster a full team. We all know how annoying it is to get close to the end of the season and see that 6th place team facing a dud squad.

Yes I agree. If guys can handle the roster spot while staying cap compliant it seems fair to me. Not like there is a cap benefit in our league to having someone on ir.

I agree that this should be taken to the Board. We are now in an era when players do not play through injury, resulting in lots of games missed, and that should not limit our GMs.

as long as you have cap space IR should be available imo

I would agree with a one or two spot increase.

I concur, the limiting factor should be cap space. Unlimited IR while remaining cap compliant seems like a good option

Just a reminder of this rule, which would definitely be under more scrutiny if we add additional IR spots.
4.2.3.5 When a player no longer has the IL/IR designation on Yahoo you will have 48 hours to move the player back to your roster or drop him to FA. If the player is on your roster after this point you will be sent one warning and will have 24 hours to remove the player from the DL. After this warning the player will be subject to being dropped at the FSC Board discretion. The 48 hour warning will be in effect from the discovery of the violation not when Yahoo removes the tag.

I would love for it to be under more scrutiny, only makes the gm more accountable for decisions as well as active daily.

Does this also apply in off-season as well?

No, only during the regular NHL season.
