I am compiling these as of 9:30 am on Tuesday the 26th with almost all deals completed.
With the Frenzy concluded, here is a look at what we just did.
61 players were signed to contracts compared to last year when 51 players were signed or 2020 when 78 players were signed to contracts. There were 76 in 2019.
$403.75 of 2022 Cap Space was used in 2022 compared to last year's $486.25, $651.75 was spent in 2020, in 2019 $554.50 of Cap was used, and $719.25 in 2018's frenzy.
$646.25 of Total Cap was used in 2022 compared to $752.50 in 2021 with $1,096.75 of total Cap in 2020.
There were:
3 QBs were signed at $63.00/$85.00 (2022/Total) compared to last year when 5 QBs were signed at $65/$91.50 in total Cap. IN 2020 7 QBs were signed for $143, 9 QBs signed for a total of $142.25 of 2019 Cap.
10 RBs were signed at $128.25/154.00 compared to last year when 8 RBs were signed at $145.25/$175.50. 11 RBs were signed for $95.75 in 2020 Cap compared to 14 RBs signed for $157.50 of 2019 Cap.
13 WR were signed at $116/$191 compared to last year when 8 WRs were signed for $204.25/$323.00. 20 WRs were signed for $343.50 in 2020 Cap compared to 16 WRs signed for a total of $187.75 of 2019 Cap.
5 TEs were signed at $24/$57.50 compared to last year when 6 TEs were signed for $21.25/$42.75. 5 TEs were signed for $11.50 in 2020 Cap compared to 6 TEs signed for a total of $25.50 of 2019 Cap.
8 Kickers were signed at $16.75/$23.75 compared to last year when 4 Kickers were signed for $7.00/$12.75 Total. 5 Ks were signed for $6.00 in 2020 Cap compared to 9 Ks signed for total of $15.00 of 2019 Cap.
22 D were signed at $55.75/$135 compared to last year when 20 Defensive Players were signed for $43.50/$107.00. 30 Defensive Players were signed for $52.00 in 2020 Cap compared to 22 Defensive players signed for a total of $26.75 of 2019 Cap
There were 27 1 year deals, 21 2 year deals, 9 3 year deals, and 4 4 year deals. Last year there were 20 1 year deals, 14 2 year deals, 9 3 year deals, and 7 4 year deals. In 2020, 43 1-year contracts, 24 2-year contracts, 5 3-year contracts, and 6 4-year contracts. Last year there were 47 1-year contracts, 19 2-year contracts, 7 3-year contracts, and 3 4-year contracts.
The top contracts were a $60, a $51, a $40, a $33.50 and a $30 contract, then 4 between $13-20, everything else was single digits. Last year's top deals were $66, $ 60, $37, 2 at $30, 3 at $25, and then nothing for more than $16. In 2020 it was 1 at $50, 2 at $40, 2 at $35,a $31, 3 at $30, a $28, and a $27, as well as 4 others between $20-25. Then there were 3 between $10-19.75 and last to note 31 $1 contracts, of which 20 were for Defensive players, 4 were kickers and 3 TEs. In 2020 there was a $50 contract, a $46 contract, a $39 contract, a $30 contract, 4 contracts in the $20s, 10 contracts in the $10s, and 27 $1 contracts.
In a somewhat alarming note, there remains $755 of unused Cap Space, an average of $47.19 per team. There are simply nowhere near the number of quality Free Agents needed for us to spend our Cap. I expect a class action suit from the players in the near future. :>)
