Since we have two new owners in the league, I thought I would post a couple of the significant rules for the "Free Agent Frenzy".
Free agents are defined as players who do not have a current contract with any fantasy team and are no longer minor league eligible ie have played a minimum of 26 games in the NHL.
Any GM may open up an auction for a major league free agent through the FSC forums.
During the off-season, when a manager holds the highest bid for 24 hours, the auction is over.
The minimum bid is $1 with bids increasing in increments of $0.25
When the auction is over, the auction winner must declare the player’s contract length. If no declaration is made within twenty-four (24) hours, the contract will be assigned a one (1) year term. A GM cannot add a player to their active roster until contract details have been assigned.
You must have room on your Active Roster for any free agents you sign, so please make any other moves (buyouts, placing on waivers, etc) before declaring the Contract length to complete the signing. I will try to process all signings as quickly as possible so that you will be able to see your roster space and remaining Cap, but you should also do your best to track that yourselves.
Here is to an exciting Free Agent Frenzy!
