Looking to get some insight on this. I feel like if a rookie who is on a pro roster and not drafted in our minor draft should be eligible for free agency right away and not subject to any rookie thresholds.[/quote]

I would agree. If the whole league passed on that player in the previous draft, said player should be a FA imo.
Plus waiting the 25 games means the entire world knows about that player. I would prefer to reward a slighter savvier GM who at least identified the player out of training camp or exhibition play.
