Looking to get some insight on this. I feel like if a rookie who is on a pro roster and not drafted in our minor draft should be eligible for free agency right away and not subject to any rookie thresholds.

I would agree. If the whole league passed on that player in the previous draft, said player should be a FA imo.

I agree, but I also think that a clear definition needs to be determined as to what "on a roster" means. Is that on the training camp roster or the final roster to start the season? Maybe a easier way to track would be to have played in a regular season game.

Bump....can we please discuss this and vote on it.
It's so dumb when a player is making an impact in fantasy and we have to sit there and wait until he scores 50 points or whatever it is.
If a player has been passed on in the minor draft for anywhere from 2-5 minor league drafts, they should simply be free agent eligible.
My proposal is: "Any player who is no longer in college and is not present on a FSC minor league roster, can be signed to a FSC major league roster through the regular free agency process (holding a bid for 24 hours) regardless if they are a rookie or not."

There has been discussion of this in Contract Hockey as well, with similar sentiment to the above statements, that we should not keep players who could contribute "off the market" due to an arbitrary number of games played. Since all GMs would have an opportunity to bid on the player, I don't have any objection to this concept, although my personal preference would be for them to have to have appeared in an NFL (or NHL/MLB/NBA) game before being eligible.

Agreed. Once they are passed over and drafted to the NFL they should be fair game

I agree Bowe. A free agent, is a free agent and eligible to be signed (bid on). It further allows the owner that's done his research and wants to take a chance on a player to reap his rewards before said player explodes and we all have to wait six weeks to bid. That's a good suggestion.

Yeah that’s my thought Guru. If someone starts getting hyped in August and they aren’t drafted in FSC I want to bid on him… if he’s garbage then I wasted cap.. if he’s good then good for the manager who was paying attention. I’m for ZERO minimums like Express said — once drafted (or even I drafted) into the NFL then fair game for all of us.

I am happy to announce that this proposal was voted on last year and has passed 13 - 3. So, any player who goes undrafted in all FSC minor league drafts and has an NFL contract is free agent eligible at the start of Free Agent Frenzy.
