Looking to get some insight on this. I feel like if a rookie who is on a pro roster and not drafted in our minor draft should be eligible for free agency right away and not subject to any rookie thresholds.

I would agree. If the whole league passed on that player in the previous draft, said player should be a FA imo.

Happy to be shown a reason to keep it, but from what I see. If a player is playing in the majors, I don’t see why they can’t sign an FSC contract.

My first reaction was that maybe a compromise number of At Bats or Innings might be better, but the more I thought about it, if they are in the majors, they probably ought to be up for auction.
I would say that we may want to consider a deadline (maybe the MLB trading deadline) for this rule to apply. It is one thing for a team to call up a guy we did not think was a prospect and he produces in April or May, and we shouldn't wait a month and a half for him to be eligible. It is another for a just drafted kid to come up for a spot start or a series, or for a guy to have a great minor league season and get called up in August or September. We still want to have good Prospects to draft.
