Hello League,
Sorry for the delay in providing an update on how the offseason and 2021 season will proceed. The board and I wanted to make sure we came up with rules that we thought would be fair for all and accommodate managers as much as possible given realities of having lost a fantasy season. I believe we have come up with a set of rules that are both flexible, and maintain the integrity of the league. The following will describe new rules while also giving some of the reasoning behind what was decided.
The Draft
Reasoning:
We knew it would be difficult to reduce the size of the draft given all the traded picks that exist. Using last year's draft order is the most objective and simplest way of determining draft order. We considered a lottery but coming up with proper weighting was an obstacle. The draft is always the best way for bad teams to get better and we wanted to maintain that philosophy by ensuring the worst teams have the best chance of securing top young players. Using previous draft order best aligned with this goal. Given that the MLB draft was shortened this year, and that there were no minor leagues this year to help evaluate prospects, we wanted to give flexibility to managers who had rightfully planned on having more data and prospects available when making their selections. We decided on the 4th and 5th rounds as carry over rounds because we feel there is enough talent for 3 rounds, and because there is already more uncertainty in these later rounds.
Contracts/Roster/Sheet
Reasoning:
We wanted to give managers flexibility in managing their contracts. We understand some managers who were expecting players contracts to burn a year so we wanted to accommodate those managers who had accounted for this year in managing their future cap. We also didn't want to penalize managers by having contracts burn a year and not get to benefit from contracts this season. We feel these rules balance the needs of all managers while providing maximum flexibility. We also chose not to have forced call-ups as we felt managers shouldn't be forced to promote players without having had the chance to benefit from their rookie year.
Im sure there will be much discussion about these rules. If there is something we missed that was not considered, please let me know and we will make sure to find a solution. Please note that these rules are only in affect for this year/offseason. None of these rules will apply for the 2021 offseason. Also note that managers assume all the consequences of these rules and no future exceptions will be made as a result of these rules or decisions made. There will also be no offseason rule survey this offseason.
Offseason dates to follow in an upcoming post.

I believe we have come up with a set of rules that are both flexible, and maintain the integrity of the league. The following will describe new rules while also giving some of the reasoning behind what was decided.
The Draft
- Draft will be 5 rounds as usual
- Draft order will be based off of the 2019 final standings (i.e same draft order as last year)
- There will be no picks awarded for final 1,2,3,4,5, division winners, or championship winner
- Managers will have the option to carry over their 4th and 5th round picks to the following year. The decision to carry over these picks can be made up until the pick expires. If a pick times out, it is not eligible to be carried over.
- All carried picks will be placed at the end of their respective rounds next year and in the order they would have been picked this year (Ex, if picks 4.03 and picks 4.13 get carried over, those picks will become 4.18 and 4.19 respectively in 2021)
- There are no limit on the amount of picks that can be carried over.
- Picks that are carried over cannot be traded
Reasoning:

Contracts/Roster/Sheet
- Managers will have the option to freeze or roll contracts.
- If you freeze a contract, the contract will carry over to 2021 with the same years and dollar amount as this year. No year will be burned.
- If you roll a contract, a year will be burned as if 2020 season happened and the players' salary and contract will advance a year.
- Players on 1 year contracts cannot be rolled over. If you do not freeze, they become FA.
- To clarify: Guys on 4 year deals either freeze at 4 or roll to 3, guys on 3 year deals freeze at 3 or roll to 2, guys on 2 year deals either freeze at 2 or roll to 1, and guys on 1 year deals either freeze or become FA
- Players will default to freeze unless stated otherwise in an offseason post (more on this later)
- There will be no re-signings.
- There will be no forced call-ups
